My mother makes this recipe of Easy Sugar Cookies.  It truly is easy.  You put all the ingredients in the bowl, mix and bake.

Let me go through that again:

Put all the ingredients in a bowl…

Drop onto a baking sheet…

Smoosh with a glass…

Sprinkle with sugar…

Bake 8 – 10 minutes.

Remove from cookie sheet to a cooling rack.

These cookies were sprinkled with Dean & Deluca sanding sugar.  They have fun colors available at http://DeanDeluca.com

This is a great dough to roll out, use cookie cutters and decorate them if you would like.

This will take a bit longer, but because the recipe is so easy, you won’t mind spending the time rolling the dough and decorating.

Here’s the recipe:

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

3 cups all purpose flour

1 cup sugar

1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder

½ teaspoon salt

1 cup soft butter

1 egg

3 Tablespoons milk

1 teaspoon vanilla

Combine all ingredients into a large bowl.  Mix until well blended.

Roll into balls and place onto an ungreased cookie sheet.  Press each ball slightly with the bottom of a glass.

Sprinkle with your choice of sugar sprinkles.

Bake 8 to 10 minutes.

Remove from cookie sheet to a cooling rack.

Enjoy.  I do.
